Copyright Registration

Copyright registration in India is a legal process governed by the Copyright Act, 1957. It provides legal protection to the authors of original works, including literary, dramatic, musical and artistic works. Registration is voluntary, but provides the author with an enforceable right to prevent infringement of their work. Registration is a simple process, and can be done through the Copyright Office in India.
